MTR - Microphone drops during calls. Speaker works.
Dear experts, I'm using Microsoft Teams Rooms (Rally/Rally Plus + Logitech tap cat5e) with the latest version on Windows 11 25H2, and I'm experiencing the following issue: Problem: microphone drops during calls. Speaker works. Symptoms: - You hear occasional glitches or unexpected noise (such as clicking or popping) in the audio stream. - You might also see momentary visible glitches in a video stream. - and occasionally a USB audio or video device might stop working. Workaround - Unplug the device, and then reattach it to the computer. - If step 1 doesn't work, restart the computer. Kinda points me to a windows problem or a driver problem and not a teams problem, but still unclear on the cause I followed the steps described in this topic, but the issue still persists. https://un5hru1qgj43w9rdtvyj8.subtlesoundimmersion.net/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/setup-upgrade-and-drivers/usb-audio-video-devices-malfunction?source=docs#resolution Has anyone experienced the same issue? If so, could you please help me resolve it? Thank you in advance.Update: You can now control Teams Meeting Recording expiration notification emails
Hey Teams community, We've heard the feedback. For admins and users managing a high volume of meetings, TMR expiration emails can pile up fast. We've been working on giving you control, and that control is now here. What's new Tenant admins can now use a PowerShell cmdlet to suppress Teams Meeting Recording expiration and deletion notification emails across their organization. Notifications stay on by default (no change if you do nothing), but if you'd like to turn them off, here's how. Prerequisites Latest version of SharePoint Online Management Shell (download here). Note, it's Windows-only, so you'll need a Windows machine or Azure Virtual Desktop SharePoint Admin or Global Admin permissions Steps 1. Connect to your tenant powershell Connect-SPOService -Url https://<your-tenant>-admin.sharepoint.com 2. Check the current value powershell Get-SPOTenant | Format-List *Recording* False = notifications currently on (default). True = notifications suppressed. 3. Suppress notifications powershell Set-SPOTenant -DisableTeamsMeetingRecordingDeletedNotification $true You'll see a confirmation prompt — enter Y to proceed. 4. Verify powershell (Get-SPOTenant).DisableTeamsMeetingRecordingDeletedNotification True means you're all set. No more expiration emails for your tenant. Want to turn them back on later? Just run the same command with $false. What doesn't change Recordings still expire and delete on the same schedule No per-user settings, no UI changes. This is purely a tenant-level admin toggle We'll keep monitoring feedback, and as always, drop your questions below.Turn GitHub notifications into code with GitHub Copilot in Microsoft Teams
GitHub can now bring repository updates into a channel, group chat, or private chat. When an update needs action, reply to the notification and @mention GitHub with the task you want GitHub Copilot to carry out. GitHub Copilot uses the issue or pull request linked in the notification and the conversation in the thread to understand the task. It can reproduce a bug, run tests, implement a fix, and prepare a pull request for review. Turn an issue notification into a pull request If the player doesn’t load, open the video in a new window: Open video For a bug report, the workflow starts in the notification thread: A GitHub Issue notification arrives in a Teams channel with a link to the reported bug. You @mention GitHub to investigate the issue and prepare a proposed fix in a pull request. The team reviews the pull request, iterates with GitHub Copilot, tests the proposed changes, and decides whether to merge. Starting from the linked issue and thread lets your team delegate the work to GitHub Copilot without rebuilding the request from scratch. The same workflow can be used to implement a feature, expand test coverage, update documentation, and more. Product and engineering teams at Microsoft are already leveraging the GitHub app in Teams to build products today. Get started Explore the new GitHub app in Microsoft Teams (previously called GitHub Notifications). If you already have GitHub Notifications installed, update the app to the latest version. The legacy GitHub app will be renamed “GitHub (deprecated)” and retired on November 16. Learn more at teams.github.com! Turn the updates your team follows into code your team can review.
Disable incessant nagware popups
I don't know about everyone else, but I am sick and tired of the nagware pop ups in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Every single product harasses me with pop ups trying to tell me "hey, did you know this feature was here?", "you can do this if you click that", "let me hold your hand through using products you've used for decades even though you don't want daddy Microslop to do that". This is a prime example. I keep getting the same ones again and again and again and everything I've read indicates they should only appear once. But they don't. They keep coming back like a psychotic stalker ex who wants alimony even though you were never married. How do I get this nagware to stop?!Ultimate Polling and Quiz Experience with Polls app: The Replacement for Forms app in Teams meeting
Initially Forms app was launched in Teams - for different experiences based on the sync vs async user scenarios, as it points to polling experience in meetings for quick creation to launch, while it points to survey experience in the context of Teams channel. To provide an intuitive and easy-to-access experience , Polls app was launched - a dedicated app for all your polling and quiz needs in Teams meeting and chat. We are glad to see that hosting an effective and interactive meeting just got easier after the launch of Polls.
Custom video filters for MS Teams
Hi, I've been experimenting with the Teams Video Filters platform that was announced in public preview in 2023 and have successfully built a proof of concept. Before investing further, I'm trying to understand Microsoft's current direction for this capability. While the APIs and documentation still exist, I haven't found much recent discussion, roadmap information, or examples of new apps being built in this space. Can anyone from Microsoft comment on: Whether Video Filters remains an actively supported extensibility platform Whether new third-party filter apps are still encouraged Whether there are plans for further investment in this area I'm mainly trying to assess whether this is a good long-term bet for a commercial Teams app, or a feature area that has effectively plateaued. Thank you and BR, Sergey.
